Friends of the late Robert J. Teed, 97, of Camden, may call on the family at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Mr. Teed died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009.

Born March 26, 1912, in Randolph, Mass., he was the son of the late Gordon R. Teed and Ethel Finley Teed.

Mr. Teed was a 1929 graduate of Stetson High School and the Bentley School of Accounting in 1933.

During World War II, he served on the home front as an air raid warden in Randolph.

Mr. Teed worked in the chocolate production process for Walter Baker Chocolate/General Foods for 41 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dover where he was a deacon emeritus. He would visit shut-ins, and would drive people to church. He was very active in Sunday school. Mr. Teed was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Bell Martson Teed, who died June 17, 2009.

Mr. Teed is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Woody Curtis of Camden and Lois and Gerald Waller of Opelika, Ala.; her grandchildren, Beth Sobocinski and her husband, Ray of Bear, Amy Walker and her husband, Brian, of Malvern, Iowa, Glen Curtis and his wife, Jessica, of Charlotte, N.C. and James Waller and his wife, Stephanie, of Gardendale, Ala.; and his great-grandchildren, Rachel Curtis of Charlotte and Michael Waller of Gardendale.

Interment was held at Sharon Hills/Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden, DE.
