H. Frances Poore of Clayton, Delaware passed away Monday November 9, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at home at the age of 75.

Mrs. Poore was born June 29, 1934 in Chesapeake City, Maryland the daughter of the late William E. and Helen Dill Pyle.

Together with her late husband, William J. Poore, Sr. she owned and operated Poore's Furniture for many years.

Mrs. Poore was the treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brandywine Summit Church Camp for many years. She also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for everyone and was well known for her chicken and dumplings and her vegetable soup.

In addition to her parents and late husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Pearl Pyle and Emily Catherine Keyton; a sister-in-law, Ann Slingbaum; and a nephew, Terry Lee Holland.

She is survived by her son, William J. Poore, Jr. and his wife Ginny of Smyrna, Delaware; three daughters, Patti Steele and her husband Jim of Hartly, Delaware, Sandy Poore and her friend Steve Rife of Clayton, and Terri Budd and her husband Kevin of Clayton; a sister, Alice Gentry of West Jefferson, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Mary Agnes Draper of Smyrna; ten grandchildren, Robert Steele, John Embert, Lori Steele, Jimmy Steele, Stacey Poore, Stephen Poore, Stephanie Budd, Joseph Budd, Ethan Budd, and Daniel Budd; and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday November 13, 2009 at 10am in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware where friends may Thursday evening from 7 to 9pm.

Burial will be at Sharon Hills/Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna, DE.
