Harlan E. Peterson

Harlan Edgar Peterson, of Wyoming, 77, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Westminster Nursing Home.

He was born March 23, 1933, in Dover, son of the late Walter and Mattie (Morris) Peterson.

Harlan served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed in the grocery industry and had worked in the meat department.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed taking care of stray cats.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Peterson in 2007.

He is survived by two daughters, Margie Peterson of Wyoming, and Cynthia Fletcher and her husband W. Rick of Harrington; a son, H. Scott Peterson and his wife Janis of Dover; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Peterson of Rehoboth.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 9, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden­Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10, at Sharon Hills/Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
