Willie Eugene Morton, age 89, departed this life on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Wesminster Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mr. Morton was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was born in Alabama and attended the public school systems there. He later owned and operated Star Barber Shop in Brooklyn, N.Y., for sixty years.
Her retired and moved to Dover in 1988.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, Della Johnson-Morton; a son, Kenneth Morton of California; a stepdaughter, Sharon Booth of Dover; two brothers, one sister, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, at Mt. Zion AME Church, Queen & Fulton Streets, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. Also, a viewing will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, located at 717 West Division Street, Dover. Internment will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park in Dover, DE.
