Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Morton of Hartly, Delaware, passed away Thursday October 8, 2009 in the Milford Hospice Center Milford, Delaware at the age of 89.

Mrs. Morton was born February 26, 1920 in Kenton, Delaware the daughter of the late Homer W. and Ruby Willey Pratt.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Morton was a Class of 1938 graduate of John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna and a longtime member of the Hartly United Methodist Church where she played the organ for several years.

She loved Christmas, antiques and her cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Henry S. Morton, who was killed in action while serving with the United States Army, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in the Chorwon area of North Korea on October 28, 1951 and a sister, Dorothy (Pratt) Harvath.

She is survived by two nephews, Larry Harvath and his wife, Betty of Camden, Delaware and Barry Harvath and his wife, Sharon of Smyrna and two great nephews, Brian and Matthew Harvath and a great niece, Erin Harvath.

Services will be Wednesday October 14, 2009 at 1pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware where friends may call one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway Dover, DE 19901.
