Pauline J. Monismith, of Dover, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, in Bay­health/Kent General Hospital at the age of 86.

Mrs. Monismith was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Viola, the daughter of the late Harry A. and Elsie Blood Jarrell.

She worked as a secretary for the State of Delaware for several years before retirement.

Mrs. Monismith was a member of the Cheswold United Methodist Church.

Her favorite hobby was gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester G. Monismith; two brothers, William B. and Ralph L. Jarrell; and three sisters, Gertrude Frasher, Sally Reed and Emma Gooden.

She is survived by her son, Edward L. Monismith with whom she lived; two brothers, Harry A. Jarrell of Venice, Fla., and Winvert J. Jarrell of Lewes; and a sister, Mary Ann Lambertson of Dover.

Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna,where friends may call two hours prior to the services. Burial will be at Sharon Hills/Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Cheswold United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 191 Cheswold, DE 19936.
