Barbara A. Lowman, of Smyrna, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. She was 75.

Mrs. Lowman was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Middletown, the daughter of the late Raymond Reed and Lillian Connors Johnson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Lowman enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alvin Lowman in 2003; and a sister, Lillian Marie Condron in 2005.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda A. and Melvin J. Hershberger of Dover; two brothers, Leo F. Johnson Jr. of Middletown, and Raymond Reed of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a sister, Elva M. Blendt of Smyrna; two grandchildren, Michael and Megan Hershberger of Dover; and two special nieces, Crystal Talley of Wilmington, and Dawn Watts of Hawaii.

Funeral services are scheduled for noon, Wednesday, March 24, in the Faries Funeral Chapel of 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call an hour prior to the services. Burial will be at Sharon Hills/Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19904.
