John William "JW" Humphries, 62, of Felton, died in his home on March 21, 2010.

He was born on June 24, 1947, in Dover, son of the late Otto and Mary (Amstutz) Humphries. John owned and operated JW Humphries Masonary since 1988. He enjoyed being out on his boats, fishing, hunting, riding his four wheelers, and having family and friends over for barbeques.

He attended the Bridge of Life Church, Camden.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ike, Robert, Alan, and Jerry Humphries; a sister, Betty Humphries; and two beloved granddaughters, Amanda Golt, and Rose Parsons.

John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Humphries; six stepchildren, Mike Williams of Smyrna, Alvie Williams, and Joey Williams, of Marydel, Donna Parsons of Magnolia, Sandra Golt of Viola, and David Whitehair of Magnolia; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 26, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden­Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills/Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to help with expenses.
